چکیده
Abstract The topic of this work is the discretization of stationary incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in two dimensions by the cell centered finite volume method. The main results of this work are the existence and the uniqueness of the finite volume discrete problem and the convergence of the velocity in the L2 norm and the discrete norm. Our techniques are based on the construction of a space discretization, a new variational formulation, the compactness theorem and the discrete Poincaré inequality.

Convergence of a finite volume scheme for the incompressible fluids
We consider a finite volume scheme for the two-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. We use a triangular mesh. The unknowns for the velocity and pressure are respectively piecewise constant and affine. We use a projection method to deal with the incompressibility constraint. The stability of the scheme has been proven in [15]. We infer from it its convergence. Mathematics Subject ...
متن کاملA finite volume scheme on general meshes for the steady Navier-Stokes equations in two space dimensions
Numerical schemes for the Navier-Stokes equations (1) have been extensively studied: see [7, 11, 12, 13, 8, 6, 15] and references therein. Among different schemes, finite element schemes and finite volume schemes are frequently used for mathematical or engineering studies. An advantage of the finite volume schemes is that the unknowns are approximated by piecewise constant functions: this makes...
متن کاملروش بالادست چندبعدی براساس مشخصهها برای تحلیل جریان تراکم ناپذیر داخل حفره
In this research, a new multidimensional characteristic based upwind scheme for the solution of incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is presented. The incompressible flow equations have been coupled each other by the aid of artificial compressibility method. Unlike to the traditional characteristic based (CB) schemes, the present scheme is genuinely multidimensional in that the local charact...
متن کاملComparison of three different numerical schemes for 2D steady incompressible lid-driven cavity flow
In this study, a numerical solution of 2D steady incompressible lid-driven cavity flow is presented. Three different numerical schemes were employed to make a comparison on the practicality of the methods. An alternating direction implicit scheme for the vorticity-stream function formulation, explicit and implicit schemes for the primitive variable formulation of governing Navier-Stokes equatio...
متن کاملAn Enhanced Flux Treatment in Solving Incompressible Flow in a Forward-Facing Step
The aim of this paper is to give a detailed effect of several parameters such as step height, Reynolds number, contraction ratio, and temperature difference between the entrance and solid boundaries, of a forward-facing step. An accurate length of separation and reattachment zones are achieved. A finite-volume method (FVM) has been developed to study incompressible flow in a forward-facing step...
